Five Things You Need to Know about Writing Articles

The next thing that should be discussed in the article title is that when writing for games, it’s very easy to think that writing isn’t real. But not anymore. Here are five key points regarding your game article:

1. It doesn’t matter what kind of writing you are doing. No matter how good or bad your writing technique, people will still find something to like about it. For example, in my first game, there was no blog on Medium, so I decided to write articles about them instead. On top of that, I had an amazing team and editor who constantly got feedback from me. That made it much easier for us to create all these great ideas for future projects. The fact stands that every single person can write perfectly. So many people have written about their experiences and opinions for others to appreciate them and be inspired.

2. Many people compare themselves to different types of writers. They tend to focus only on the negative aspects of their writing. When writing this type of content, you should always pay attention to other pieces as well. That is why it’s better to concentrate on the details and work on every possible point. And to be sure that you don’t get stuck and lose sight of what you want to say. Of course, you won’t write anything similar to another writer’s story. However, at the same time, your content can reflect the essence of it. If you want to improve and learn more from those who have written so many great stories before you, don’t be afraid, because they are all successful. Don’t try to compete with them. Everyone can do better than you at something. Be confident in yourself, but at the same time, understand it’s not about improving your skill. Keep learning to become a little bit more efficient, and don’t focus on comparison with others. Just tell your own idea instead.

3. What you want to write. Sometimes, we think that it has nothing to do with our skills. Well, it can affect everything that we write. There’s also a saying “When someone tells you a secret, keep it a secret.” That’s what I did with some of my gaming friends, who were interested in PC games. We made several conversations and finally started to make plans for the future project. Then, I thought about the character’s voice and tried to tell him that he was the hero of his story, but without changing a thing. As soon as my friend understood and saw the difference between himself and me, he took over my role completely. The game project was never finished, so we didn’t see each other for a long time. After talking about this experience and thinking about it again, my gaming life has changed drastically. People can’t just make something for themselves and forget about what the reader wants. You’ll never understand the readers if you neglect your feelings. Otherwise, you’ll get bored of reading anything that interests you. Write for the characters, and try to give them your thoughts and feelings.

4. Get rid of everything that is unnecessary. You need to remove any unwanted information or data. If you can’t find any words on Wikipedia, then delete them. A very common mistake is when people start making plans and writing down every word and sentence that comes to mind, trying to increase their knowledge. In reality, if a person doesn’t know what you are going to tell him or her, it’s better to tell everything. Don’t spend too much time writing and explaining what you think of it. Also, you need to remember about grammar. Not every rule makes sense, so always make sure to use correct words. All these are the keys to success in writing. Once you do everything, stop worrying about what people want to hear from your piece. It’s enough for your article. Now, do the work. Read the comments and feedbacks and try to get feedback from the authors. Give your opinion and let the reader do whatever he/she wants to. Let the world tell you what they think about your work, and don’t follow people’s advice. Think of what the reader is looking for, and don’t focus on its specifics. Trust your reader, not the reader. Always make sure to read your followers’ feedbacks, and change things from time to time. Remember that your goal is to win the game, and not to impress everybody by writing something. Be open to new possibilities and make sure to consider the audience.

5. Your story can end but your job can’t. Try not to put off your job because you’ve spent a lot of time on it and it doesn’t seem to be that simple to finish it. At the moment, the only reason why people don’t manage to finish their tasks is that they have forgotten about deadlines and what work they need to do. Do not let this become your excuse, you need to understand that everyone is busy. If you have a deadline and you are late, you have a big problem. My personal story started to show what is wrong with that kind of situation: in addition of time, I didn’t focus on the task and my results weren’t decent enough. So, I stopped working. I thought about myself as a professional, and my ego kept reminding me that I wasn’t good enough for the chosen field. The truth is that the story and the title are important, otherwise, nobody would finish working. That day, I went to the meeting and gave everybody a detailed briefing about the project. I told everyone about my responsibilities and my goals. I didn’t ignore anything I said. Even though I did everything in the best way, I wasn’t satisfied with my result. How could I? What did I mean to do? Those are the questions that I asked myself and didn’t respond properly. Why was it that the boss chose me to be one of the editors and I didn’t think what I did was worth it?You have to ask people what they really want to do and make them realize that their current job is not the right choice. Another person might get the same feeling as me. That’s why you shouldn’t worry and just work hard and get the results you want. Don’t be lazy and don’t take part in useless activities and be serious about your goals. Don’t waste your time on such problems and don’t waste your energy on unnecessary things. Focus on the quality of writing and try to impress people with your talent. That’s all you need to do. Only then you will be able to be successful. You can’t beat anyone if you play the game like you are already successful and famous. Instead of being jealous, try to inspire a person and help him/her achieve success. Tell stories that will make people think about their own lives and be proud of themselves, not ashamed and be disappointed in your achievements.

Some useful tips that will help you to succeed

1. Make sure that your main message is clear and convincing. Every article needs a clear thesis, so if you want your work to be interesting and successful, choose the easiest approach to convey what you want. Also, don’t underestimate the importance of choosing the appropriate font to write. Use readable fonts and good colors. Make sure that your language is understandable for your target audience. Finally, the format of your article shouldn’t be misleading. Take into consideration all those aspects. Pay attention to how it looks and what the text is looking like. Everything can be improved. Especially when you’re writing about video games, there’s plenty of room to develop your ideas for further essays. Moreover, you have the opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge and skills.

2. The topic of the writing should be related to the game. Make sure that your subject is the gaming industry, because now it’s almost impossible to write about non-gaming subjects, especially when it comes to video games. In my case, I wanted to write about 3D CAD software, so I decided to study this topic more closely and look at its history. I wrote two articles about using CNC machines and X-ray scanners. Both of them were extremely popular among students of IT and computer engineering. One of my friends loved it, as it was relevant to the gaming business. In general, the topics you write about will be based on your understanding of the gaming universe. If you find the most suitable industry for your writing, go for it! But make sure to make a plan and stick to it.

3. Make sure that your writing is original. You can’t become famous unless you come up with original ideas and concepts. Make sure that you don’t copy what someone else has already written about the subject. I can provide a few examples to illustrate this statement. For example, there exist lots of books written about Photoshop and how to design a photo, or books written about Photoshop tricks. When you see my article, you may ask whether photoshop is really used to enhance your photography skills, but it often becomes a tool for beginners like me to master it. These tools improve their skills in various ways. Therefore, I think that photoshop will be used in 2021. Maybe there will be lots of startups that offer services to customers in the gaming industry, but
